Robinvale

Overview
Robinvale is situated in North West Victoria and is almost completely surrounded by the Murray River, giving the Robinvale region the unique characteristic of lush irrigation districts reaching into the golden grain belt of the Mallee.
The township of Robinvale is situated in a central geographic location, allowing easy access to most of the major metropolitan cities on the Eastern side of Australia.
Potential film locations for the Robinvale area include the Murray River, Robinvale is home to one of the best sections of the river, given its width and abundance of water thanks to the lock and weir close by. Robinvale is a strong agricultural region with some of the largest table grape, olive, almond and carrot farms in the southern hemisphere.
History
The town is named in memory of Lieutenant George Robin Cuttle, who was killed in action during air combat over France in 1918. The Post Office opened in 1924 as Bumbang, but was renamed Robinvale in August of that year.
Lock 15 on the Murray River is just downstream of the town providing a pool of irrigation water and ensuring that the river near Robinvale is permanently available for water activities such as water skiing. The weir and lock were completed in 1937, the last one built on the Murray.
